How would both Buddha and Socrates would explain the nature of wisdom?
Buddhist and Socratic wisdom: Explain how both Buddha and Socrates would explain the nature of wisdom. For Buddha, consider the Four Noble Truths and the distinction between "knowing accordingly" and "". For Socrates, consider his realization that his wisdom consists in seeing that he knows nothing, his philosophical method, and other claims in the Apology ("The unexamined life is not worth living.") For both figures, you should clearly describe their criterion for wisdom After presenting both, answer these questions: Does Socrates violate or satisfy Buddha's criteria for wisdom? Does Buddha violate or satisfy Socrates' criteria for wisdom? What conclusion about the nature of wisdom are you drawn to as a result of your reflection?
