What causes arm pain during heart attack?

I have hypertension, and I've been noticing that the B/P readings on my left arm are always significantly higher than those on my right arm. Is there any relation to my findings and the cause of left arm pain ociated with a heart attack? I'm not experiencing any pain, so I'm not concerned about that. I'm just curious about the whole pathophysiology of it all.
