I'm 35 and have been wanting to move out of the house, but my mom doesn't want me to.?

how active is your mother?? the fact that you are 35 years old and still home may not have a lot to do with your mother's opinion. she seems to financially able to care for herself. and she has diabetes but that shouldn't stop her from having a good life. have you ever experienced taking care of yourself alone financially and otherwise.? sometimes if we are afraid we can't handle things alone we use the excuse that someone else is stopping us. if you are serious, then tell your mother you will be there for her with what she can't do for herself, enlist your brother's help. and immediately start looking for a new place. i am quite sure your mother won't hate you for it. and after a while you both will adjust and like your new decisions,. after all, what would you do if your mother all of a sudden was not there?? your mother has a form of control over you, and she will continue unless you prove to her you are a grown woman and can take care of yourself. so if you don't leave, don't blame your mother.
