Spiritually speaking, isn't Death a deity worthy of worship?

Well yes, and many religions do worship death in the form of a God of destruction (Shiva for example). In Indonesia they worship the volcano because it brings destruction and death which makes way for new life. It seems odd that Christians/Jews/Muslims have historically feared death while other parts of the world just give it a healthy respect.
