Nikon d3000 or Fujifilm Finepix S1800 to begin ?

Hi there, i'm a beginner and i really want the Nikon D3000 (to begin with), but i don't have the whole money for it right now and i really want to start shooting! So...I saw a Fujifilm S1800 and it's not expensive as the Nikon D3000, i mean; i could have the Nikon, but that will take me a while, but i can't wait! and the Fujifilm S1800 i could have it right now! I searched the web after it, and a read alot about it, and i think the camera is to cheap, because it doesn't appear to be a bad camera, i mean, for the whole comercials and for the quiality of the camera, i expected alot more than $229(or something.So as a beginner, i don't know if i should buy or wait for the D3000. So if somebody could help me out with tips, and tell me about the Fuji, if it's good or if it's not, etc. by the way i'm an editor anf i like shooting landscape and some models picture too, (i guess these are good cameras for that).
