Non science major introductory chem cl?

i'm a bio major and some of the more advanced bio courses i need to take have general chemistry or organic chemistry as a prerequisite. i haven't taken chemistry for a few years and when i did it was very challenging and i had an absent minded teacher. would it be a good idea or a waste of time for me to take introductory chemistry for liberal arts majors as a refresher before i take general chemistry for science majors?
